In this project, volunteers will be working with disabled youth to provide support, education, care, and recreation. Volunteers will become part of a team of professionals that focus on assisting the children and youth in anyway possible. The team consists of psychiatrists, physical education trainers and educational psychologists. Together volunteers and the professional build a positive environment for the youth to learn, heal, grow, and have fun. For many, this project can be a challenge for the volunteers. In all reality, it can be emotionally exhausting, but at the same time also rewarding. All will gratefully receive the love shared at this program.
Participants must be at least 18 and have insurance to cover their accident, liability and health. Volunteers with basic or intermediate knowledge of Spanish will be able to volunteer effectively. If do not have any knowledge of Spanish, please consider joining our Spanish program while volunteering in Cordoba. Participants must follow all the rules and regulations of the organization they will work for. You must also be self-motivated, resourceful, and willing to join-in on a wide range of activities. You must also have skills you can use to make your project successful. Volunteers must also be emotionally mature and respectful.
Volunteers will be involved with the disabled children and spend quality time with them. You will organize recreational activities, including sports. Volunteers will also assist the local staff in the daily activities and participate in workshops and classes. You will also be part of many events that take place and include yourself in educational activities like arts and crafts. You will also learn and help in therapeutic activities.
The project is located in Cordoba, which has a cultural rich history and colonial charm. Cordoba has been home for a great many writers, artists, and musicians. The streets and character of the city offer much stimulation and are quite exciting to experience. The urban environment offers a plentitude for volunteers to experience, and there are also nearby nature opportunities in the Andes and Pampas.
