India contains one-sixth of the world's population, and millions of her children are born and raised in the streets. To help these teeming masses of homeless children, RCDP invites you to join the program and work in an orphanage in India to share your compassion, patience, skills and encouragement with India's neediest children. For many years, our partners have provided informal education, healthcare, and creative activities for India's orphans. But orphanages need dedicated volunteers to help their staffs deliver these programs.

Join RCDP's orphanage project in India and work to better the lives of orphaned children. Through the care you will give and by your very presence also the children can turn into confident individuals capable of believing in themselves. In return, you will receive warm appreciation, an experience that will enrich your life and memories that will stay with your forever.

Your activities as a volunteer

As a volunteer in orphanage project in India, you will contribute in the development and growth of some of the most deprived and neglected children in the world. You will help the local staffs as they work with children and directly involve them in various skill-developing activities and teaching English. Your commendable effort, contribution, teaching, love, care and inspiration for these underprivileged children will definitely enhance their knowledge, skill, perception, and experience thereby assisting to make their future success and radiant.

Working in an orphanage is a very rewarding job though your work can be difficult at times. You will work with small groups and may be asked to teach English and get involved in organizing games, art, sports, and music.

The orphanage centers accommodate up to 50-70 boys and girls between the ages of 3 to 14. Although this is not an English teaching placement, you will have the opportunity to teach English during your stay in the orphanage. If you are skilled in sewing, painting, tailoring, crafting, typing, and computing, you can teach these skills to the children as well.

Skills required

No specific skills and qualifications are required. But volunteers joining orphanage projects should have love and passion for serving poor kids. Volunteers should also be flexible, self-motivated with open mind to learn and serve to the people of new culture and religion.

Jaipur: Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and is known as the “pink city”. The city is truly an exotic and colorful place where people speak Rajasthani (Madwari) and Hindi. The city consist magnificent and majestic forts and palaces.
