Recreational services are vital for children's well-being and development, as highlighted by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. However, over the past decade, Zimbabwe has seen a drastic collapse in recreational services and infrastructure. This decline has left children in precarious situations, lacking access to basic recreational activities. Without safe and engaging environments for play and leisure, children are often trapped in risky environments, hindering their overall development and well-being.Despite Zimbabwe's natural beauty, there has been a significant decline in recreational services and infrastructure over the past decade. This decline has left many children in unfortunate situations, with limited access to necessary recreational services.

International volunteers participating in our program have a unique opportunity to address this issue by engaging children in innovative indoor and outdoor play sessions. By drawing children out of risky environments and providing safe and enjoyable play opportunities, volunteers play a crucial role in promoting their physical, social, and emotional development. Through collaborative efforts with our local team, volunteers plan and implement a variety of play activities, utilizing traditional games and locally available resources to create engaging play equipment. By providing both play and educational support, volunteers not only offer hope and optimism to children facing daily challenges but also contribute to boosting their self-esteem and confidence levels, ultimately shaping a brighter future for them.
