During the summer, the schools are off in China and children have lots of time to do many things. The weather is not too hot, and many children go on a tour with their parents and many camps are organized to educate the children while also having fun. Summer camps in China are recent phenomena but they are growing in popularity as it's a wonderful and fairly inexpensive way for the parents to send their children to learn English and other subjects through debates and discussions and also learn sports. Our volunteers in the project will work with children of varying age and contribute towards the children's growth.

Your Responsibility as a Volunteer:

Volunteers will be busy working with the children during the summer camp. You'll play with them, teach them English through songs, or by holding debates and discussions; you'll also be involved in dance and plays. This is a fun project where volunteers will also contribute in a fun way.

Skills Required:

Volunteers are required to be open-minded and resourceful. Besides this, no other criteria are required.

Arrangement of room/food/supervision:

Volunteers will stay in a Home Base, hostel or with a host family and take 3 local meals a day. If volunteers find the food too spicy they ask for less spicy meals if they want. While staying with a host family, you'll have a wonderful chance to learn about local people and their culture. Our Xi'an coordinator will be in touch with you all the time to ensure you are well and enjoying your volunteering.
