Ghana is still a developing nation with subpar health and medical care infrastructure despite being one of the most beautiful countries in the world. In recent days, several Ghanian people are suffering from high blood pressure-related illnesses. These diseases have now become the second leading cause of death in the country behind malaria. This situation highly prevails in rural villages where most residents are uneducated, poor, and do not get easy access to basic healthcare facilities. Here's where your invaluable service comes in. As a mobile nurse volunteer, you will join the effort to raise awareness about these diseases, distribute medicines and help the local lead a happy and harmonious life.

Project Location:

The medical project in Ghana project is based in Accra and Kumasi. Accra is the seaside city of Ghana. It's also the most populous and contains many beaches, museums, libraries, traditional markets and has a lively nightlife. The buildings in Accra reflect its colonial past and new development. You can see castles juxtaposed next to modern buildings. You can also visit shopping centers, restaurants and shanty towns in Accra.

Kumasi is the capital city of the Ashanti region. Also known as Ghana's second city, Kumasi is regarded as the cultural heart of Ghana as the vibrancy of Ghana's culture is more evident here than any other part of the country. The city's major attraction includes the National Cultural Center and zoological gardens with its lovely gardens but depressing zoo. In the villages around Kumasi, you can see artisans practicing crafts liking woodcarving, printing cloths and weaving. Villages like Bonwire are the place to visit for kente cloth, Pankrono is best known for pottery, Ahwiaa for woodcarving and Ntonso for adinkra cloth.
