Work in Orphanage in Nepal
The internal conflict has resulted in the death of thousands of people, which turned many children into orphans. The political unrest has added to the misery.
Thousands of people migrate to the urban cities in search of bigger opportunities and a better lifestyle, but reality is far more hard-hitting than anticipated. Many children work for more than 14 hours a day hotels, restaurants and industries and they live on the streets.
RCDP works with established orphanages in the urban cities and offers volunteering programs in Nepal for college students.
While volunteering in the summer adventure for college students program, you will be working towards giving orphaned children healthy, secure and constructive childhoods.
You will be teaching English and other subjects in your capacity and conducting creative programs like music, art, games, drawing, painting and others. Imparting knowledge on health education will be part of your volunteering program as well.
If you have the knowledge on tailoring, painting, crafting or computer skills, then you can share it with the students. As a volunteer in the summer adventure for college student programs, you will be ensuring the student slept well, ate well or change into clean clothes.

A copy of your resume is required that states your education and credentials. The school only hires teachers with a degree in education or some form of prior teaching experience with teaching certificates.
You will be teaching students at the primary level between the ages of 5 to 10 years and junior secondary classes between ages 11 to 16 years.
You will be working as an English teacher during the college student summer adventure trip in Kenya. If you are confident, then you can start the classes right away or you can assist the local teachers first and start the classes on your own once your gain confidence.
You will be following the school curriculum but your teaching method is welcomed.
You can organize discussions and debate programs to increase the comprehension ability of the students.
Organizing extra-curricular activities and participating in games and plays and assisting the school administration in various activities will be part of your volunteering responsibilities during your summer adventure for college students.
Teaching Buddhist Temple School in Thailand
More than thirty thousand Buddhist temples exit in Thailand and many monks live, study and meditate in the temples. Apart from following their traditional daily life the monks are involved in social works.
Running the school where children from poor families come to study is part of their social work.
Even though the temples pay for the English teachers the standard of English isn’t good. So RCDP offers volunteering programs of teaching English in Buddhist Temple Schools in Thailand.
You do not need any previous teaching experience or skills to join the volunteering adventure program for college students in summer in Thailand. Being a native English speaker isn’t required but you need to have fluency in it.
You will be expected to be patient, flexible, and respectful towards the Buddhist tradition of Thailand.
As a volunteer, you will be teaching in primary and secondary school. You will be teaching 5 days a week from Monday to Friday. You can also organize extra-curricular activities for the children.
Youth Athletic project in Brazil
Many youths are the victim of drug abuse and other unwanted activities in the shanty towns or favelas of Rio. Playing sports not only diverts the mind of the youth, but it is also essential for physical development and social and emotional well being.
During the summer adventure volunteering project for college students, you will be working with vulnerable children in shanty towns, where deprivation of basic needs is a major issue.
To become a part of this project, you need to be athletic and good in volleyball, football or any other sports. You are recommended to learn basic Portuguese, but it isn’t a requirement.

Conservation Program in South Africa
Cape Town in South Africa is popular for its Table Mountains, dramatic landscapes and coastal area. Cape Town has evolved with time, but to maintain reserves, national parks and marine life it needs dedicated volunteers and helpful residents.
The conservation project for college students during summer will take you to the southern suburbs and False Bay coastline of South Africa.
During the project, you will be working towards conserving the national parks and creating an awareness program regarding the importance of the conservation.
You will be working from Monday to Sunday on the conservation project from 8 am to 5 pm, but during winter (April -August) work could slow down due to weather.
You do not need any particular skill to participate in the project. You must be dedicated and passionate while working with children outdoors.
Visitor management, clearing paths and removing unfamiliar vegetation that hinders the growth of local plants will also be part of your volunteering responsibility.
You will be counting birds, monitoring the health of trees, participating in awareness programs and working with the administration to create brochures.

Marine Project in Costa Rica

Elephant Orphanage Project in Sri Lanka
Elephants in Sri Lanka are domesticated to run errands, like carrying loads and tourists on the back. People enjoy making them work when they are capable, but once the elephants are sick, old or injured, then they become a burden to their owner.
The Elephant Orphanage Project of Sri Lanka aims at taking care and rehabilitating the elephants. Your small effort during the summer volunteer adventure as a college student could make a huge difference.
You will be living close by the elephant orphanage. In the morning, you will be helping the elephant handlers in cleaning the enclosure, preparing food and milk, bottle feeding the baby elephants and feeding other elephants.
In the afternoon, you will be going to the river to watch and participate in the elephant bathing ritual. You will get an opportunity to learn to clean the elephants with coconut husk.
Any specific qualifications or prior experience isn’t required to enroll in the summer adventure volunteering trip for college students. Volunteering as a college student in Ecuador during summer will give you a chance to bring positive change to the lives of street children, depending upon your skills and interests.
You can teach music, English, math or any other subject in your capacity and you will be assisting them in their home work as well. Imparting knowledge on the importance of maintaining personal hygiene and sanitation will also be your responsibility.
Special qualifications are not required to participate in the project. Speaking Spanish will enable you to have a better interaction with children and staff, but it isn’t a requirement. You will be expected to be flexible and cooperative as well as have passion to serve the orphan children.
Disabled children Project in Argentina
Many disabled children of Argentina are deprived of various facilities due to poor economic condition. The parents of the disabled children also lack the knowledge to deal with the disability of the children.
You will be working with the disabled youth team to support, educate, care and provide recreational activities for the children.
You will be working together with the team of physical education trainers, psychiatrists, and educational psychologists. For participating in the summer volunteer adventure program for college students, you need to be at least 18 years of age with insurance to cover health, accident and liability.
Basic or intermediate knowledge of Spanish will be helpful to communicate effectively. If you do not know the language we have Spanish language classes for you.
